from 10k laptops to a movement for digital inclusion

Digital Access & Inclusion Initiative

This initiative is the foundation of Tech Access Foundation for Youth Empowerment. It began as a bold social impact movement—“10K Laptops for 10K Nigerian Youth”—led by Ayilola, popularly known as “The Laptop Guy,” and driven by a simple but urgent reality: thousands of capable youths were excluded from the digital economy because they could not afford a laptop.
The success of the 10K Laptops project revealed a deeper truth—access to technology is the first step, not the finish line. While devices opened doors, many youths still needed skills, guidance, and pathways to real opportunities. This insight led to the evolution of the movement into Tech Access Foundation, expanding the focus from device distribution to full digital inclusion. Today, the Digital Access & Inclusion Initiative provides laptops, essential software, and digital tools that enable underserved youths to participate in training, complete practical assignments, and begin their journey into the digital economy.

Focus Area

Turning Access into Capability

Tech Skills Development & Training Initiatives

As thousands of youths gained access to laptops through the 10K Laptops movement, a clear gap emerged—access without skills does not guarantee opportunity. Many beneficiaries had devices but lacked structured, relevant training aligned with real market demand.
The Tech Skills Development & Training Initiative was created to close this gap. Through partnerships with tech communities, training providers, and private-sector organizations, the Foundation delivers free, demand-driven digital skills training that prepares youths for today’s global and remote job market.
Training is practical, inclusive, and supported by the very tools provided through the Digital Access initiative—ensuring no participant is excluded due to lack of resources.

Focus Area

turning skills into sustainable careers

Workforce Readiness Mentorship & Employment Initiative

As more youths completed training, another critical reality surfaced—skills alone are not enough without exposure, guidance, and real opportunities. Many young talents struggled to navigate internships, professional networks, and entry into the workforce.
The Workforce Readiness, Mentorship & Employment Initiative was designed to bridge the final gap between learning and earning. It supports beneficiaries through internships, mentorship, career guidance, and employment pathways, ensuring that skills translate into sustainable income and long-term careers.
Through partnerships with tech companies and global organizations, the Foundation connects youths to job placements, remote work opportunities, and real-world experience.

Focus Area

Youth Awareness & Self-Discovery

Across all initiatives, we implement youth awareness programs that help young people discover their interests, build confidence, and understand opportunities within the digital economy promoting long-term inclusion and resilience.
